CATEDRAL DE SAN JUAN BAUTISTA
This cathedral dedicated to St. John the Baptist was declared a National Monument in 1931
After the conquest of the city by Alfonso IX of Leon in 1230, one of the mosques inside the Alcazaba was initially used as the cathedral. Very soon, the construction of a new monument (the current cathedral) was undertaken outside the citadel. Dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, it was consecrated in 1270. The work continued until the 15th century, with some rearrangements until the 17th century. It was declared a National Monument in 1931.
