PLAZA ALTA

It has long been the center of the city outside the Muslim citadel, hosting markets under the arcades since the Middle Ages. Rehabilitated in recent years, it is now a beautiful square, among the most beautiful in Spain. It has two areas, to the north, thearco del peso or mirador de la ciudad, which is the oldest part and dates back to the Middle Ages and opposite, the arco del Toril, its most modern part. You will notice the Casas Coloradas, an impressive Mudejar building. A must-see during the day and at night.
