This fortress castle is considered one of the most interesting in Extremadura. Built in the 15th century, it is named after Don Álvaro de Luna, master of the Order of Santiago, who lived here for a long time. It is made up of four walls and a five-story keep, and also houses the late Romanesque church of Santa María del Castillo. You will also find the Gothic Quarter, also known as Villa Adrentro, Barrio de la Teta Negra or Jewish Quarter, since it was home to this community until the end of the 15th century.
