With a capacity of almost 30,000 people, it was one of the greatest circuses in the Roman world, probably dating from the Ier century. And surely one of the best preserved. The monumental aspect of his «porta pompae» was noticed, by which the solemn procession preceded the races. Recently renovated, space also hosts an interpretive center to better understand the role of circus in the Roman world, using an important audiovisual and graphic material.
