CHURCH OF SANTA MARÍA LA MAYOR
Gothic building of the XIII century, whose network vaults were rebuilt in the XV century in Trujillo
This Gothic building from the 13th century, whose networked vaults were rebuilt in the 15th century, serves as a pantheon for Trujillo's celebrities. In the upper part of the building, illuminated by a large rose, you can see the two stone pulpits from which the Catholic Monarchs used to attend services when they stayed in the city. The 24 panels of the gothic altarpiece decorating the high altar are attributed to Fernando Gallego. From the bell tower you can enjoy a pleasant view of the city.
