THE CATHEDRALS OF PLASENCIA
Cathedral with Cistercian reminiscences and pre-Gothic forms, housing paintings by Zurbaran in Plasencia
The complex has the peculiarity of bringing together two very different buildings: the old cathedral from the 14th century, with Cistercian reminiscences and pre-Gothic forms, and housing in its choir paintings by Zurbarán, and the new cathedral, built in the 16th century in Renaissance style. The older one has a cloister with Roman remains and an interesting museum with paintings by Diego Ribera, Luis Morales and a 14th century bible.
