WALL AND GATES
A wall of about 24 hectares that is similar to the Spanish works of the beginning of the XIII century in Plasencia
With a dimension of about 24 hectares, the wall is similar to the Spanish works of the beginning of the 13th century, such as those of Burgos and especially of Avila. Many parts of the wall have been recovered, although of the 71 towers it once had, only 20 remain today, as well as 7 gates and 2 posterns, those of Salvador and Santa María. The most famous and popular gate is the Puerta del Sol. Restored at the end of the 15th century, it has an image of the Virgen de la Paz and the shield of the Catholic Kings.
