SAN ANTON AQUEDUCT
One of the most emblematic monuments of Plasencia, built by Juan de Flanders in the 16th century
It is one of the most emblematic monuments of Plasencia. It was built in the 16th century by Juan de Flandres, replacing the previous one, which dated from the 12th century. It is located at the entrance of Plasencia when you follow the Via de la Plata which passes under its arches. It brought water from the Sierra de Cabezabellosa and El Torno to the Alcázar (of which nothing remains today) and to the upper part of the city. Today, 55 arches remain, 18 meters high and the work measures 300 meters. 7 of these arches are in a picnic area, with beautiful views.
