The ancient castle of the Counts of Oropesa (th century), the Parador offers a superb view of the orchards of La Vera. Charles Quint stayed there for several months before joining the monastery of Yuste. Another illustrious visitor, Charles de Gaulle, would also have spent the night. The swimming pool, surrounded by olive trees and orange trees, is a haven of peace in summer. The old rooms offer a real journey in the past.
