IGLESIA SAN SALVADOR
Mudejar Romanesque church from the 13th century, converted into a museum of medieval sculptures with a collection of sacred art
The church was built in the Romanesque-Mudejar style under the order of the Templar monks in the early 13th century. It belonged to this order until their disappearance and then it became a parish for several centuries before being abandoned in 1876. It will degrade thereafter. Declared a national monument in 1929, it was later restored and converted into a museum of medieval sculpture. Today, this collection of sacred art, which includes about forty pieces, testifies to the sculptural wealth of the city at that time.
