DIOCESAN MUSEUM
A beautiful collection of sculptures, objects of worship and various works in a diocesan museum in Leon.
The Renaissance cloister gives access to the diocesan museum, whose rooms are distributed around the cloister. The museum is one of the most comprehensive of its kind, housing pieces from every stage of art history, from prehistory to the 20th century. Particularly noteworthy is the room devoted to Romanesque art, with a collection of sculptures from the 12th and 13th centuries, Castilian and Flemish triptychs, ivory pieces, religious objects and unusual codices such as theAntiphonaire mozarabe, a 10th-century prayer book.
