Monastery of neoclassical style with a church with a baroque altarpiece in Ponferrada.
Neoclassical monastery founded in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 18th century. You can visit the 17th century church. Admire its baroque altarpiece dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, the walnut sacristy with its baroque reliefs and the 17th century sculpture of St. Michael the Archangel. The monastery is not open to visitors, as it is inhabited by Cistercian nuns of the San Bernardo order. Sale of porcelain and pastries.
