PALACIO DE GAUDÍ
Neo-Gothic modernist palace with four granite towers housing the archaeology museum and a temporary exhibition hall
It is the most photographed building in the city! Its architecture is signed by Gaudí, who was in charge of its reconstruction after the fire of the old Episcopal Palace of Astorga in 1886. This modernist building of neo-gothic inspiration has a castle-like appearance with its four granite towers. Gaudí directed the work until the death of Bishop Grau in 1893, after which it was completed by the architect Ricardo García Guereta. The interior is divided into four levels, which include an archaeological museum and a temporary exhibition hall.
