PALACIO DE GAUDÍ
Neo-Gothic modernist palace with four granite towers housing the archaeology museum and a temporary exhibition hall
This is the city's most photographed building. Its architecture is by Gaudí, who rebuilt it after the former Astorga episcopal palace burned down in 1886. With its four granite towers, this neo-Gothic Modernist building resembles a castle. Gaudí directed the work until Bishop Grau's death in 1893, when it was completed by the architect Ricardo García Guereta. The interior is divided into four levels, including an archaeology museum and a temporary exhibition hall.
