SNAIL'S PACE
Gothic and Renaissance style tower with Pimentel coat of arms on its façade, the ceiling is with Mudéjar coffers
Everything suggests that the construction of the Castle of La Mota was carried out at the end of the 12th century. In 1230, it was the place of a historical agreement, known as theConcordia of Benavente, uniting the kingdoms of Leon and Castile by Fernando III. From the 14th to the end of the 19th century, it became the residence of the Counts of Pimentel until it was burnt down. The Torre del Caracol is all that remains of this medieval palace. Its style is a mixture of Gothic and Renaissance, and on its facade you can see the numerous Pimentel coats of arms. There is also a beautiful 15th century Mudejar coffered ceiling.
