Church of the VIIth century representing the Visigothic art and a series of capitals with various motives behind the external deprivation
Near Zamora, don't miss a visit to the church of San Pedro de la Nave, a sublime demonstration of Visigothic art. Built in the 7th century, it was transplanted stone by stone some twenty kilometres west of Zamora and was thus saved from drowning when a dam was built. Behind the plain exterior, a series of finely chiselled capitals with exuberant plant, animal and biblical motifs can be seen.
