IGLESIA DE SAN PABLO
Church built between the years 1445 and 1616, whose interior reveals a Latin cross plan in Valladolid
A new and brilliant demonstration of the Isabelline Gothic, precursor of the Plateresque. It is no longer an altarpiece, but a real hanging adorned with trimmings and whimsical characters. Adjacent to the college of San Gregorio, the church was built between 1445 and 1616. It was the witness of the baptisms of Kings Felipe II and Felipe IV and Napoleon visited it. The interior reveals a Latin cross plan, consisting of a single nave with open chapels on the sides, in one of which the Duke of Lema is buried.
