CASA DE CERVANTÈS
Historical house that can be visited as a museum of ethnography in Valladolid
Don Quixote's father lived there from 1603 to 1606, surrounded by women: two of his sisters, his daughter and his niece. The historical residence can be visited as a museum of ethnography. On the ground floor there is the typical Castilian kitchen of the 17th century, with its utensils and fireplace covered with azulejos. Also on display is the platform(estrado) on which the women worked. On the first floor is Cervantes' room, with a marine from his personal collection on the wall: The Battle of Lepanto, in which the writer lost an arm.
