DIOCESAN MUSEUM
Museum to admire more than 450 pieces of silverware from the diocesan treasury, altarpieces and polychrome sculptures in Valladolid
The remains of the original collegiate church are spread out in a group of funerary chapels, which belonged to the collegiate church in the 13th century, before being modified a century later in the Gothic style. More than 450 pieces of silverware from the diocesan treasury can be admired here, including an imposing processional cross, ivories, altarpieces and polychrome sculptures from abandoned churches in the region. The Ecce Homo by Gregorio Fernández and the monstrance by Juan de Arfe, typical examples of Spanish Baroque art, are particularly noteworthy.
