Natural area to find the largest juniper trees on the planet and to observe the Pyrenean desman and the wild cat
Take a walk 2 km from the monastery through the Yecla gorge, and you'll rediscover the monastic silence that seems to have fled the monastery since the advent of Gregorian chant in CDs. This is what has attracted the hundred or so pairs of vultures that nest here. It can be crossed in half an hour (sometimes with some contortion) thanks to a series of footbridges. This natural area is also home to the world's largest juniper trees, some of which are over 2,000 years old. As for the fauna, you can observe the Pyrenean desman and the wildcat, among other species.
