Visit the Royal Mint and admire the finest examples of industrial architecture in the region
Not far from the cityscape and the Eresma River, the Royal House of the Mint was founded by Philip II in the 16th century and designed by Juan de Herrera's architect. It is one of the most beautiful examples of the region's industrial architecture. The Real Casa de Moneda now houses the Currency Museum and the Aqueduct Interpretation Centre, to learn more about this emblematic monument of the city and listed by UNESCO.
