LA BUTTE D'USSON
A hill supposed to watch over aviators, inaugurated in 1893 in Usson.
From the church of Saint-Maurice, take the path to the top of the hill of Usson. About ten minutes are enough to reach it. There, at an altitude of 639 meters, you are facing the chain of the Puys, the Sancy massif and the Livradois-Forez mountains. A 360° panorama that will not leave you indifferent! Above your heads watches a 7 meters high statue of the Virgin. Inaugurated in 1893, it is supposed to watch over the aviators. To return to the village, follow the path that goes down the other side of the hill.
