CATHEDRAL SANTA MARÍA DE LA ASUNCIÓN
Cathedral of Gothic inspiration with its high vaults and its three parallel naves, built in ashlar
Built in the first half of the 16th century, it is of Gothic inspiration with its high vaults and its three parallel naves. Its fine columns mark a return to a more classical style with decorative motifs borrowed from Antiquity. The cathedral was built of ashlar from a former collegiate church of which ruins remain. Its treasure is the main altarpiece, partly built by the Spanish Renaissance sculptor Damian Forment.
