This cathedral is one of the most characteristic and oldest of the Romanesque architecture in Spain. It dates back to the 11th century and was chosen as the episcopal seat and center of the Catholic Church in the Kingdom of Aragon. It underwent several modifications in the 15th century (late Gothic vaults of the side vessels and facades of new chapels), but also in the 17th and 18th centuries (creation of the altarpiece, a new cloister and new apses ...). The building is a candidate to be declared World Heritage.
