A symbol of love materialized by the remains of Juan Diego and Isabel, their mummies found in a small chapel

A symbol of love materialized by the recumbents of Juan Diego and Isabel, who lived in the thirteenth century a tragic love story like Romeo and Juliet. Their mummies, found in 1555, are housed in a small chapel. The visit is based on 4 themes: the cultural, social and political specificities of Teruel at that time, the love story between Juan Martínez de Marcilla and Isabel de Segura, the influence she had in different cultural fields (literature, theater, music, paintings...), the discovery of the mummies.

Very romantic
It is the spanish romeo and juliet story. The monument in alabaster with the hands that do not touch is nice but the church and the tower are much more art interesting of course. The tower is olde than san salvatore one and for this it is less decorated and it has got no inside clay and chalk tower like the other one. The church is beautifully decorated in blue gold and red with window glasses you can see from both sides. The cloister is simple and it contains a big nativity at christmas time. The garden has got a nice metal statues of the lovers.
