Medieval church with a bell tower and two high towers for defensive purposes in Pamplona

A Gothic building whose two high towers give the town its characteristic silhouette, the church of San Cernin or San Saturnino was also a fortress with a defensive role in medieval times: in the past, the inhabitants of the various towns that made up the town fought frequent battles! In front of the church square is the pocico, a small well in which, according to legend, Bishop Saturnino baptised the first Christians of Pamplona. Its bell tower announces the beginning of the Sanfermines every year.
