PAMPLONA MURALLAS
These powerful walls protected Napoleon's troops from Wellington's English troops
These powerful walls are reminiscent of the stronghold that Pamplona once was: they protected Napoleon's troops from Wellington's English troops. From Plaza Maria, we take the Paseo de Barbasana, which leads to the bastion of Redil, not far from the Puerta de Francia, one of the best-preserved gates (with drawbridge) in the city. We then arrive at the Royal Palace (12th century), recently restored, which houses the Floral Archives. Finally, we pass behind the museum to begin the Paseo de Ronda, one of the most interesting walks in Pamplona!
