CERCO DE ARTAJONA
Artajona Walls from the 11th century, one of the most important medieval fortifications in Navarre, of which nine crenellated towers remain
The Ramparts of Artajona are one of the most important medieval fortifications in Navarre, harmoniously blending in with the topography of the hill on which they stand. This 11th-century fortified complex originally consisted of fourteen crenellated towers linked by a parapet walk, of which only nine remain. The ramparts surround the church-fortress of San Saturnín, an imposing 13th-century construction. To access the walls, you will have to go through one of the old gates: San Miguel or Remahua.
