Parish hostel with a warm welcome and a sense of comfort in Viana with spartan facilities
Parish hostel glued to the church of Santa María, run by Christian volunteers. It offers 15 places on mattresses on the floor. The facilities are as Spartan as the welcome is warm. Community meal with the parish priest and the volunteers. There is nothing here, however, that has anything to do with the notion of comfort: an experience of hospitality that pilgrims could enjoy long before the arrival of modernity.
