VALDEREJO NATURAL PARK
A large natural park with a varied ecosystem that is home to the largest colony of griffon vultures in the Basque Country
Located in a valley divided in two by the canyon of the river Purón and dominated by the peaks of Recuenco (1,239 m) and Vallegrull (1,226 m), Valderejo is a large natural park of 3,500 hectares with a varied ecosystem. In fact, the very low human presence has favored the preservation of the fauna, and it is home to the most important colony of griffon vultures in the Basque Country. The Purón River runs through the park, which allows you to walk through the deep canyon.
