IGLESIA DE SANTIAGO EL REAL
The church is distinguished by its triumphal arch façade, adorned with two sculptures of St. James the Apostle.
An obligatory place of passage for pilgrims to Compostela, this 16th century church was once the meeting place of the town council. The 17th century façade, designed as a triumphal arch, is decorated with two sculptures of the Apostle Saint James: one depicts him dressed in pilgrim's clothing, and the other in matamoros ("killer of the Moors"). Just next to it is the Fountain of Santiago, where it is not uncommon to see pilgrims refreshing themselves.
