PUENTE DE PIEDRA (STONE BRIDGE)
This stone bridge, known as the "San Juan de Ortega Bridge", was built by architect Fermín Manso de Zúñiga.
This stone bridge is one of the symbols of Logroño: it is represented on its coat of arms and marks the entrance to the city from the Way of St. James. It is also known as the "Bridge of San Juan de Ortega", in honour of the Saint to whom the construction of the primitive bridge is attributed. Almost 200 metres long and formed by seven arches, the current bridge was built in 1884 by the architect Fermín Manso de Zúñiga, after the collapse of the old bridge in 1871.
