SAN LORENZO'S PUERTA
A remarkable door and exhibition space, to learn more about the stay of the emperor in Laredo.
Laredo still has several gateways to its ancient medieval walls, including the emblematic Puerta de San Lorenzo, which houses the "Last Landing of Charles V" exhibition, initiated by the El Palenque cultural association. This is an authentic plunge into the 16th century that retraces the emperor's stay in Laredo, from his landing in the port to his abdication in Brussels. The exhibition features period costumes, a reconstruction of his ship, a bronze cannon and various objects that accompanied him on his journey to Yuste.
