PARADOR GIL BLAS * * * *
Parador with a cosy and seigniorial decor of the time, housing a restaurant with a nice terrace
This parador, named to pay homage to the picaresque hero of Lesage, was built in the beautiful Barreda-Bracho palace, built in the 16th century. It is decorated in the opulent, stately style of the time, with a magnificent chestnut parquet floor, massive furniture and fireplaces crowned with coats of arms. The restaurant offers an excellent selection of Cantabrian specialities. Such as the cocido montañés, or the fish and seafood soup, to be enjoyed in the dining room or on a pretty terrace. The latter is open to all.

A fantastic location on the most fantastic place of Santillana Del Mar. Marble bathrooms (vice) of antique furniture, religious paintings from the 17 and 18c on all floors, a monastic calm in a more than religious hotel unforgettable. Avoid staying here in the summer and during school holidays. Off-season, prices lower half
