A remarkable square with Gothic and Renaissance palaces in Santillana.
It is around this square that the city developed in the 13th century. It is triangular in shape and still has a superb cobbled floor. It brings together, with great character, a repertoire of small Gothic and Renaissance palaces (14th-16th centuries) with evocative names: the Eagle and Virgin Vine palaces, the Barreda-Bracho (Gil Blas parador), the Infante Paz... Also noteworthy are the Merino and Don Borja towers, both built in the 14th century, which are among the oldest buildings in Santillana del Mar.
