Itinerary
Pontevedra: A visit to the old quarter of Pontevedra will allow us to discover one of the best preserved historical quarters in Galicia. Founded in Roman times and the main powerhouse of the region for centuries, this city is a must-see. We will get to know some of the most characteristic buildings of the city of Pontevedra related to one of the most important guilds of the 16th century, and we will see the wealth and power of the city through emblazoned buildings belonging to former noble families.
Combarro: Visit this picturesque and original village of the Rías Baixas. It is a perfect example of popular architecture with an abundance of stone crosses, granaries and fishermen's houses. We will enjoy a boat trip along the Ría de Pontevedra with a visit to the rafts and we will surround the Isla de Tambo, linked to the legends and stories of pirates. On board we will taste mussels accompanied by wine. Free time for lunch.
Playa A Lanzada: located between the municipalities of Sanxenxo and O Grove, it is one of the most famous beaches in Galicia. Its fine sand, its 2.5 km width and the quality of its waters make it worthy of the Blue Flag award year after year. Near this sandy area is the peninsula of A Lanzada, a place from which we will enjoy the view of the estuary and the open sea, and where pagan and Christian traditions intertwine through the chapel that receives the same name as the place and the ruins of one of the most interesting castros of the Galician coast.
Cambados: Capital of Albariño wine, we will visit the Plaza de Fefiñanes, a beautiful space full of charm made up of the 16th century Pazo that gives it its name, the arched bridge, the church of San Benito and a whole group of houses, among those inhabited by important Galician playwrights.

EXCURSION THROUGH THE RIBEIRA SACRA BY CATAMARAN THROUGH THE CANYONS OF THE RIVER SIL
ITINERARY
Discover the Galician interior by visiting the Ribeira Sacra. We will travel by catamaran, we will visit the monastery of San Pedro de Rocas, the viewpoint of Cabezoás and Ourense.
On the banks of the rivers Miño and Sil, we will discover one of the most unique places in Galicia: the Ribeira Sacra. Let yourself be seduced by its centuries-old vineyards and the charms of Romanesque art.
We will leave Santiago at 8:15 a.m. and head north to the province of Ourense, where we will begin our guided tour of the Ribeira Sacra. This name comes from the Middle Ages, a time when many monasteries were spread over the slopes of these rugged landscapes.
We will start our adventure by taking a catamaran that will take us on the river through the spectacular canyons of the Sil. A one and a half hour trip that will take us through the deepest and most characteristic landscape of this region of the Galician interior. On board the boat, we will be able to taste a typical wine of the region, known for its designation of origin.
At the end, we will go to one of the viewpoints that surround the Ribeira Sacra to see from above the immensity of its landscape.
Our next stop will be the incredible monastery of San Pedro de Rocas, located in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra and one of the architectural symbols of this region. Where the legend tells us that in the 6th century it was founded by hermits, today we find a particular church dug in the rock, tombs different from what we can imagine and a whole series of architectural elements that will not leave us indifferent.
The next stop will be the city of Ourense, known as the thermal capital of Galicia and the most important city located at the entrance of the Ribeira Sacra. It will be in Ourense where we will have free time for lunch, and in the afternoon we will visit the historical center of Ourense, we will walk through its cobbled streets and we will discover why it is known as the city of bridges.

EXCURSION THROUGH THE COSTA DA MORTE
The Costa da Morte occupies the northwest of the Galician coastline, extending for tens of kilometers, within the boundaries of the province of A Coruña. The personality of this region is marked by its condition as the western limit of Europe. Since ancient times, people considered this place as the Finisterrae, the end of the world, the door to the beyond. After their arrival in this place, the Romans witnessed and reported the spectacle of the sun plunging into the Atlantic Ocean.
This region of Galicia is one of the most attractive for visitors and at Simply Galicia we offer you an excursion through the most emblematic towns of the Coste da Morte. A whole day with transport and guide included in which you will discover the land of the gods. The itinerary is as follows:
Pontemaceira: place of passage of the pilgrims going to Fisterra, Ponte Maceira is a small town full of history. Its medieval bridge over the river Tambre and the surrounding vegetation create an evocative atmosphere, full of legends.
Walls: walking tour of the old town and port of this fishing village, a reflection of Galician culture and tradition where the sea is the protagonist. Its arcaded houses and galleries and its picturesque atmosphere attract attention.
Carnota: surrounded by mountains and beaches, the natural spaces of Carnota will not leave you indifferent. Mount Pindo, the marshes or its 7 km long beach are some examples. Visit its famous granary, one of the largest in the world, almost 35 meters long.
Ézaro: visit the spectacular waterfall of the Xallas River, which crosses Ézaro to end up flowing into the sea in a waterfall, the only case in Europe. From its viewpoint, you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the city and its coast.
Fisterra: the end of the ancient world. Place where pilgrims coming to Compostela meet the immensity of the ocean. Visit its lighthouse, the most important of the Costa da Morte, a guide for ships through its dangerous waters.
Muxía: visit this town to see one of the most traditional marine sanctuaries in Galicia, "Nosa Señora da Barca", located in a spectacular spot by the sea. This is the place where tradition tells that the apparition of the Virgin to the apostle Santiago took place.
