HOSTAL DOS REIS CATÓLICOS
Hostal with an imposing facade decorated with a magnificent plateresque portal delimited by 4 plateresque patios
The construction was ordered in 1501 by Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile to serve as a hospital and hostel for pilgrims. Its imposing façade is decorated with a magnificent plateresque portal with the 12 figures of the apostles. Its plan, as with all hospitals of the time, follows the shape of a cross inscribed in a square delimiting four plateresque patios. Now converted into a hotel, it is one of the most beautiful paradores in Spain.
