LA HERRERA GARDENS
Impressive military complex with gardens with beautiful plant species including old magnolias
Behind the Palacio de la Capitanía, there are beautiful views of the river and the arsenal. An impressive military complex built around 1750, according to the plans of Julian Sanchez Bort, which gives an idea of the weight of the army in the construction of the city. The gardens, designed in 1885 by the engineer Andrés Comerma y Batalla, reveal beautiful plant species including old magnolias. The Churruca obelisk, which pays tribute to the heroes of the Battle of Trafalgar, can be seen here. A pleasant walk full of scents.
