PARADOR DE PONTEVEDRA * * * *
Parador in a corner of Pontevedra that has a restaurant to enjoy regional cuisine
In a corner of Pontevedra, this authentic Galician manor house, the pazo of the Counts of Maceda, houses the parador. In spite of what the almost too well restored façade suggests, the manor house dates back to the sixteenth century. A clear granite staircase leads to the alcoves, all of which are decorated with tapestries and old-style lacework. Note, the beautiful fireplace with a hearth fitted out in the image of the kitchens of yesteryear. As a preview, you can enjoy a few dishes of regional cuisine at the Casa del Barón restaurant in the very chic dining room or in the inner garden.
