IGLESIA DE SAN BARTOLOMÉ
One of the only examples of Italian Baroque that can be appreciated in Galicia, the church that houses the Virgen de la O in Pontevedra
Built in the 17th and 18th centuries by the Jesuits, the church houses the Virgen de la O, patron saint of Pontevedra, which is celebrated on 18 December. It is one of the only examples of Italian Baroque that can be appreciated in Galicia. Admire its rich facade decorated with columns, windows and several coats of arms of noble families, as well as a sculpture of the Virgin Mary in its centre. Also worth seeing inside is the beautiful set of Baroque altarpieces, some of which were sculpted by Pedro de Mena and Gregorio Fernández.
