BURGO BRIDGE
One of the emblematic constructions of the city, the granite bridge that spans the river Lérez in Pontevedra
It is one of the emblematic constructions of the city. Of Roman origin and later replaced by another in the 12th century and modified several times later, this granite bridge spans the river Lérez with its 11 semicircular arches. It is located on the route of the Camino Portugués, and for a long time it was the only crossing point to reach the other side of the river. The beautiful chapel of Santiaguiño is also located here. Above the pillars, note the famous pilgrims' shells inserted between each arch.
