Opened in 1959, the Caravelle sheltered several embassies and large Newspapers in the 1960 s, including the New York Times and the Washington Post. In August 1964, the hotel was the subject of a bomb attack. After 1975, he went under Vietnamese direction and was renamed Independence hotel. It's original name in 1998, when a re-opening is due to a thorough renovation. Since then, Caravelle has been elected the most luxurious hotel in the city. The bar on the top floor is especially famous for its magnificent view.
