CENTRE MÉDICAL INTERNATIONAL (CMI)
The CMI, originally Institute of the Heart of Ho Chi Minh City, created by Professor Alain Carpentier and Dr. Duong Quang Trung in 1992, is a consultation centre (no hospitalisation) that has given the mission to offer all patients, Vietnamese or foreigners, residents or passage, quality medicine adapted to the tropical country. It is powered by a French and Vietnamese medical team with high quality equipment. It comprises 11 specialties: General and tropical medicine, cardiology, gynecology, psychology, osteopathy, paediatrics, neuropsychiatric, ophthalmology, speech, traditional medicine and psychomotor. French Social Security reimburses care. All profits are returned to the Heart Institute to fund Cardiac operations for Vietnamese children. During his official visit to Vietnam in 2016, President François Hollande visited the Heart Institute, «symbolizing all Franco-Vietnamese cooperation in the field of health».
