TAM SON HOI PAGODA
A pagoda dedicated to the Goddess of Fertility, where couples come to pray for numerous offspring.
Built in the 19th century by the Fujian congregation, it is dedicated to the fertility goddess, Me Sanh, whom couples come to pray to have numerous offspring. In the entrance courtyard, the proud general Quan Cong with his long black beard, protected by military mandarin Chau Xuong and civil mandarin Quan Binh. On the central altar, Thien Hau, the goddess of the Sea, protector of sailors and fishermen. To her right, in an ornate niche, Me Sanh, the goddess of fertility, and to her left, Ong Bon, the guardian of virtue.
