WHITE VILLA (BACH DINH)
A villa with decor inspired by ancient Greece, famous for having been home to the exiled emperor Thanh Thai.
A fine example of colonial architecture, the Villa Blanche was built in 1898 by the architect Antoine Genet, at the request of Paul Doumer, Governor General of Indochina and future President of the Republic. On the outside, decorative motifs inspired by ancient Greece. It was used as a summer resort by the governors who enjoyed the magnificent view. It is also known for having sheltered the exile of the emperor Thanh Thai, 10th sovereign of the dynasty of Nguyên.
