A pagoda with a spectacular colony of bats in its garden.

This pagoda is more than 400 years old. A place of worship, the pagoda is also known to house a spectacular colony of bats in its garden, with a population of more than one million individuals. Deeply respectful of the holiness of the place, bats are known never to taste the fruits of the pagoda trees. In August 2007, the pagoda was the scene of a fire that destroyed many historical relics. It has since been restored.
