GO THAP SITE
This is an archaeological site where objects dating from the Oc-Eo civilization have been discovered. But the site is also known because it served as a basis for resistance during the war, first against the French and then against the Americans. Doc Binh Kieu, head of resistance against French troops, who gave his name to a village in the vicinity and one of the streets of Cao Lanh, commanded Dông Thap Muoi (the name of the hill overlooking the place). It kept its headquarters north of the hill, behind the tower Co Tu, built under the reign of Emperor Thiêu Tri. Every year, on the 16 th day of the 3rd lunar month, the site is the theatre of a ceremony attended by thousands of participants and celebrated in honour of the engineering engineering and Doc Binh Kieu.
