TACH DONG UNDERGROUND PAGODA
A rock sheltering a cave that has become a Buddhist temple dedicated to a Jade Emperor and a Goddess of Mercy.
This limestone rock shelters a cave that has become a Buddhist temple. At the entrance, the stele of hatred commemorates the massacre of 130 people, killed by the Khmer Rouge on March 14, 1978. Bullet holes in the walls of the cave also bear witness to the war between the two countries. This pagoda is dedicated to Ngoc Hang (the Jade Emperor) and Quân Am (Goddess of Mercy). From the openings of the rocks, the view extends over the Cambodian and Vietnamese countryside.
