The Hung Thanh distillery has been founded in 1895. Nuoc-mâm is a brine obtained by maceration of sea fish and shrimps; it forms the basic ingredient of the Vietnamese diet. Like wines, nuoc-mâm has its classification. At the top of the hierarchy are Phan Thiêt and Phu Quoc, which are in a way the great vintages. At the very bottom, the piquette: the nuoc-mâm made from brine from rice field strands.
