The station is located on the North-South railway line of Vietnam. The construction of the line started at the beginning of the 20th century and was made difficult by the mountainous terrain. The site is very uneven and has many tunnels.
Like many strategic sites, the station was heavily bombed during the war. It is not served by "fast" trains. Connections with Nha Trang (about 2h30). For Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville, it takes 8 hours.
