Museum retracing the history of Nguyên Huê, who defeated an invading Chinese army and reunited the country that had been divided for two centuries.
This museum, retraces the history of Nguyên Huê, who crowned himself emperor and took the name of Quang Trung (1753-1792). With his brothers, Nguyên Nhac and Nguyên Lu, he led a revolt during which he defeated successively the Vietnamese lords Nguyên and Trinh, then the Siamese invaders (1785). He ascended to the throne in 1788 under the name Quang Trung. He defeated a Chinese invading army and reunited the country that had been divided for two centuries. During his reign, he encouraged agriculture and promoted the development of trade. He died at the age of 39.
